Our post was originally chartered on August 1st, 1920 only a year after American Legion national was established. It was originally named for Ray Bennett of Camas who was lost in France during World War I. In 1947 the Post was re-named the Bennett-Barnett Post 27 to honor Curtis Barnett, another Camas son lost in France in World War II.
